Wandavision ‘On a Very Special Episode…’ (S01E05) Review

Now we are talking!

After the misfire of Episode 4, and this week’s MAJOR leaks and spoilers, I found myself not too fussed about watching this episode. However, even though I was annoyed that half the episode was ruined, I came away pleasantly surprised and excited again. Admittedly, after watching it for the second time. The first time was full of ‘that was ruined’, and ‘seen that before already’.

Wandavision ‘We Interrupt This Program’ (S01E04) Review

Actually ended this episode of Wandavision saying out loud “Really? Is that it?”.

With a stupidly long ‘previously on…’ and seemingly 8 hours of end credits – this episode must only be about 15 minutes long.

I am generally getting a tad bored with all the ball tickling foreplay this series is constantly giving me. I’m actually starting to question if it is such a good idea for Marvel doing so many TV series after all. At least with the movies they seem more constrained to 2-3hrs of story telling, so there’s a balance with economy of story and world building. Here the focus seems to be on padding.

Wandavision ‘Now in Colour’ (S01E03) Review

So it’s been a whole week to wait for the next instalment of the Wandavision, and I have mixed views about this.

Even though I’m enjoying the fact I have something to look forward to each week, up till now there hasn’t really been anything MAJOR to get my teeth into overall.

That’s the biggest issue Disney+ and Marvel are going to have if they are going to continue with this weekly releasing schedule: it gives the audience time to reflect. A moment to ponder whether after the whole whip up of initial excitement – was there actually any substance?

Episode 1 was a nice introduction piece. Episode 2 really played with the premise a little more – but nothing really substantial. So does Episode 3 finally stop with the whole foreplay, and get juicy?
